The quarantine period has been extended in Lithuania until April 13, but more and more notaries have resumed appointments with clients and notarizing of transactions in their offices as they are able to use personal protection equipment.
At midday on 30 March, 210 Lithuanian notaries out of 244 were receiving clients at their offices by appointment. The number of notaries either not working or providing advice remotely stands at 34. Most of them are not receiving clients due to illness, self-isolation or leave. A further 3 notaries were expected to resume business on 31 March.
The Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries underlined that notaries only receive clients who have made an appointment in advance by telephone or email. People are urged to postpone visits to notary offices unless they are essential. However, if such a necessity arises, preparations for notarial acts should be made remotely.
